A new digital feud has erupted, and this time it involves two prominent figures in the comedy scene: the outspoken YouTuber Oga Obinna and the popular comedian Mulamwah. What started as perceived cordiality has taken a sharp turn into the land of blocked accounts and he-said-she-said accusations, all playing out in the very public arena of social media. Obinna, known for his no-holds-barred commentary, has laid bare his confusion and frustration over being digitally iced out by Mulamwah, even questioning the authenticity of Mulamwah's ex-partner Ruth K's online activity. Get ready for the backstage drama that's spilling onto your timelines!
Oga Obinna, in a recent online address, expressed his bewilderment at finding himself seemingly embroiled in a conflict he never initiated. He stated that he had always maintained a cordial stance with Mulamwah, never considering him an adversary, especially given their distinct approaches within the entertainment industry. "Violence loaded, I don't understand how nowadays I find myself in cases that are not mine. I am just minding my business," Obinna began, setting the stage for the unfolding drama.

The revelation of the digital cold shoulder came to light on April 20th, a day Obinna vividly remembers. While hanging out with friends in Nairobi's bustling CBD, just a stone's throw away from Mulamwah's comedy show venue, Obinna had intended to show his support. However, when he tried to access Mulamwah's social media page, he was met with the digital equivalent of a locked door. Initially perplexed, Obinna's friends confirmed they could see Mulamwah's account. The penny dropped when Obinna checked Ruth K's page – only to find himself blocked there as well. This led Obinna to a significant claim: that Mulamwah is the one pulling the strings behind his ex-partner's social media presence. "I was gonna pass by his show when I was told about it. I started checking if he arrived at the event and I was like eh, am I blocked? When the others check, they can see his account. Then I said 'Let me check the wife’s page and I’m like Oh wow, I’m also blocked' but now you know, Mulamwah runs both the pages. So I’m like, that’s interesting, so I decided to mind my business," Obinna shared, hinting at the control he believes Mulamwah exerts over Ruth's online identity.
Obinna then delved into what he believes is the root of Mulamwah's apparent animosity, tracing it back to the time Obinna began collaborating with the comedienne Dem Wa FB. According to Obinna, Mulamwah had actively discouraged Dem Wa FB from working with him, allegedly claiming that Obinna was "washed up" and no longer relevant in the industry. "When I started working with Dem Wa FB, I did not know Mulamwah had beef with me. This is when I understood the scope of what is happening. Mulamwah told her not to work with me because ‘Obinna ameisha, amechapa’ alot of things which Dem Wa FB and the manager told us," Obinna revealed, highlighting the alleged behind-the-scenes maneuvering.
Obinna further elaborated that Dem Wa FB herself was hesitant to work with Mulamwah due to alleged stinginess and a consistent failure to compensate her and her manager adequately for their work. "She and her manager said ‘we don’t want to work with Mulamwah, 'we have been working with him and he does not pay us. We have done so much, including jobs. Mulamwah has been paid he does not pay us. When we shoot at his place even food we are not given.’ We were shocked, but we never said anything negative. And then we went to do amazing things together," Obinna stated, painting a picture of professional grievances that predated his own awareness of Mulamwah's alleged ill will.

Despite these revelations, Obinna adopted a surprisingly conciliatory tone, urging Mulamwah to let bygones be bygones. He specifically addressed the issue of being blocked, suggesting that the reason might stem from content on "The Weekly Show," a platform Obinna is associated with. Pointing out the irony of a fellow comedian taking offense at comedic content, Obinna playfully pleaded with Mulamwah to end the digital blockade. "Only to find out that I have been blocked because of The Weekly Show, and Mulamwah is a comedian. Then also, I’m not the one who said it, and even if Dem Wa FB was just passing information she read online. You could have just called me. That’s a small thing you are blocking me for. Please unblock me. Pretty please, unblock me. I will find your wife and then take her phone…. No you are the one running both accounts. Unblock me, you are also a comedian," Obinna quipped, directly referencing his belief that Mulamwah controls Ruth K's social media.
While Obinna has laid out his side of the story, several questions remain unanswered. Has Mulamwah responded privately to Obinna's claims? What is Ruth K's perspective on the management of her social media accounts? And what will be the fallout from this very public airing of grievances within the Kenyan comedy and online entertainment scene?
This digital spat serves as a reminder of the often-fragile nature of relationships within the entertainment industry, where perceived slights and behind-the-scenes dynamics can quickly escalate into public feuds. It also highlights the powerful and sometimes contentious role that social media plays in shaping narratives and airing disagreements. As fans and followers digest this latest development, the ball is now in Mulamwah's court. Will he address Obinna's claims? Will the digital walls come down? The Kenyan entertainment world waits with bated breath for the next chapter in this unfolding social media saga. One thing is for sure: the drama is far from over.
