The stage is set for a thrilling showdown in Nairobi as Kenya Police Bullets, the reigning champions of the FKF Women Premier League, prepare to compete in the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers. The draw, conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt, has placed the Bullets in Group A alongside Eritrea’s debutant Denden FC and Uganda’s Kampala Queens. With the qualifiers set to run from September 4 to 16, 2025, at both Nyayo Stadium and Ulinzi Complex, the Bullets will have the significant advantage of playing on their home turf.
This will mark the second time Kenya has hosted the qualifiers, a testament to the nation's growing prominence in women's football. The inaugural edition in 2021 saw Vihiga Queens make history by winning the title and representing the region at the continental showpiece. Now, it is the Kenya Police Bullets' turn to carry the mantle and fight for the coveted spot.
Their journey to the qualifiers is a story of determination and consistent dominance. Having won the 2024/25 FKF Women Premier League for a second consecutive season, the Bullets have proven themselves as the best team in the country. Their last appearance in the qualifiers in 2024 saw them reach the final before a heartbreaking loss to Ethiopia’s CBE. This time, however, the team is more determined than ever to push past that final hurdle. The support of the home crowd, a factor they lacked last year, is expected to provide a crucial psychological boost.
The other groups promise equally exciting matchups. Group B features last year’s continental representative, Ethiopia’s CBE, alongside Top Girls Academy of Burundi and Rwanda’s Rayon Sports WFC. In Group C, Tanzania’s JKT Queens will face South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars and Zanzibar’s JKU Princess. The competition will be fierce, with each team fighting for the single spot at the CAF Women’s Champions League.
