Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, a figure consistently at the forefront of national headlines, has once again captivated public attention. Known for her outspoken political commentary and an often-tumultuous public life, the influential lawmaker is now trending for her bold and unequivocal declarations regarding the intricate relationship between religion and politics. A staunch ally of President William Ruto, Senator Nyamu recently accompanied the Head of State to a Sunday church service at ACK St. Martin’s in Kariobangi, a setting that provided the backdrop for her latest, most talked-about pronouncements.
During her address from the pulpit, Senator Nyamu delivered a powerful message, suggesting that President Ruto’s leadership transcends mere political ambition, describing his presidency as fundamentally God-ordained. Her argument was rooted in a narrative of divine intervention, illustrated through the President's remarkable political trajectory. Nyamu challenged skeptics to observe his journey from its very genesis: "If you want to know God called our president, just watch his journey since he joined politics. From the day he vied for MP in Eldoret North, the then-president, who was very powerful, Moi, was against him. So against him that he planted a candidate against him. And he triumphed."

Nyamu continued to build her case, portraying President Ruto's ascent as a series of victories against insurmountable odds, culminating in his ultimate triumph to the nation's highest office. "Against all odds, he is the president today," she declared, before directly challenging any opposition. "And now you tell me there is someone out there thinking they can fight him? A man who has fought two sitting presidents?" Her rhetoric underscored a deep conviction in the President's spiritual backing, suggesting that any opposition would be futile against a divinely appointed leader.
Senator Nyamu also issued a poignant call to the church, urging for unwavering spiritual support for the President. She underscored the critical role of religious institutions in upholding their spiritual duty, emphasizing the importance of continuous prayers for leadership. "We pray for you. And for the church, when you stop taking up that role, who will pray for him? We know we are on the right side and we will speak boldly," she added, reinforcing her view of the church's essential role in the nation's political and spiritual well-being.
