Elizabeth Irungu is a name that now resonates in the corridors of finance and investment. She is the current CEO of ABSA Asset Management Limited.
Growing up in a humble household, Elizabeth was deeply influenced by her father who was an educator. Her faith in God too instilled in her a profound love for learning and this foundation paved the way for her academic achievements, leading her to one of Kenya's top public universities. Her initial dream was to study science but a twist of fate guided her toward economics—a field she embraced with both hands. In addition to the self-encouragement, she was inspired by the faith her boss had in her potential. Elizabeth Irungu values integrity because she comes from a part of a community which values integrity and sees it as a huge role which made her to be this great. Today, th beacons hope is to aspire leaders, especially women in finance. She wishes to help women see the bigger picture in investing themselves other than spending here and there. She does this by balancing investing in other by investing in herself and making sure she has a book to read. Her advice to people is you need to step out of your comfort zone if you wish to achieve great heights!
