Diamond Platnumz Addresses No-Show at Furaha City Festival: Cites Poor Management
Diamond Platnumz was paid $150,000 to perform at the Furaha City Festival in Nairobi but did not take the stage, citing poor event management as the reason. He arrived three hours early but experienced delays that led him to leave without performing. He expressed his commitment to professionalism, stating, “I cannot be paid $150,000 and then fight to perform. I will be on time and leave if my performance time is over.” He emphasized that he doesn’t negotiate with event organizers or other artists for stage time, claiming, “That’s how my music discipline is.” Additionally, he dismissed claims by Kenyan artist Willy Paul, who alleged that Diamond's management prevented him from performing, calling the accusations baseless and a bid for attention. Diamond asserted that being the headliner meant he would perform last, after other artists.
