ETANA’S ROOTS VIBE FESTIVAL SABOTAGED
Etana’s roots vibe festival that was scheduled for the 7th December in Nairobi postponed indefinitely. Addressing his audinece and fans on K24, Etana sited that her December show was postponed because two events could not be promoted in the same area for security reasons.
“My Kenyan fans, my Nairobi fans, i sincerely apologize to all of you for the postponement of the roots vibes festival tonight, my show on December 7th” Etana noted.
Etana further went to the social media and in a tweet stated that her show had been sabotaged by someone who had paid big money to ensure her show does not happen as planned.
“ I am not happy about the sabotage and let me be clear im not showing up at platinumz show. Someone paid big money to ensure my show tonight is sabotaged. Then all of a sudden I am hearing the teo shows cannot be held in the same area from the authorities and my show tonight cannot happen. All this politics and drama for one girl. I wonder who is behind it all. Why you do afraid of one show and one woman?”
While issuing an apology statement to his loyal fans, Etana further stated that the postponement of the event could not be blamed on the event promoters for her event had been promoted for a longtime before the Diamond Platinumz Furaha City event popped up. At one moment, Etana stated she had been informed that her show had been canceled, only to be surprised on the Saturday that the reason surrounding this cancellation was the ongoing Furaha City concert at Polo Grounds.
“It has been promoted for a long time before the Diamond Platinumz show popped up and at one moment I was told that the show was canceled and then again not. Now I am being told that the event, my event has to be canceled because the two shows cannot be promoted in the same area for security reasons.” Etana reiterated.
Excluding the promoters, Etana stated that Diamond Platinumz had showed up at the 10 over 10 popular show that airs on citizen tv with over 50 people for one female with the intention of intimidating her. She however was not intimidated and never will be because according to her, its common for people to show up on tv with over 100 people in her home country Jamaica.
“I was never intimidated by their presence and never will. And its unfortunate that so many me, in a time especially when women are…I would say its in Kenya the 16 days of activism for women. Its unfortunate that so many men can come up against one female, I am only one woman. How coward. Its unfortunate,” Etana stated
She however stated that she will continue to love and support her Kenyan fans all over the world and the coward action showed by diamond platinum and his team will not prevent her from performing in Kenya in anytime.her other shows to continue as planned and new date to be announced for the roots vibe festival by the promoters and k24 TV.
