Tyla At Coachella

The reigning "Queen of Popiano," Tyla, is clearly not resting on her laurels after the massive success of her self-titled debut album and its deluxe edition. The 23-year-old South African singer-songwriter sent fans into a frenzy this week, teasing a brand new single titled "Bliss" across her social media platforms, signaling the exciting dawn of her sophomore album era.
In a captivating video, Tyla is seen bathed in an ethereal glow as a pair of majestic white angel wings magically appear behind her. The snippet of the new track features her signature smooth vocals crooning the dreamy lyrics: “Take me out of my mind/ Oh-oh-oh, oh, oh-oh/ Take me out of my mind/ Oh-oh-oh, oh, oh-oh/ You take me to bliss.” The short clip is enough to send shivers down your spine and leave you eagerly anticipating the full release.

Eagle-eyed fans might recall Tyla first teasing "Bliss" during her electrifying Coachella set earlier this month, giving a lucky festival crowd a sneak peek of what's to come. But the "Bliss" doesn't stop there! Tyla has also collaborated with the popular health-focused grocery store Erewhon to create her very own signature smoothie, also aptly named "Bliss." This delicious partnership comes with a heartwarming purpose: proceeds from every "Bliss" smoothie purchase will go directly to 18twenty8, a remarkable non-profit organization based in Tyla's native South Africa. This incredible initiative empowers young women between the ages of 18 and 28 by developing crucial strategies for their educational and personal development, showcasing Tyla's commitment to giving back to her community.
"Bliss" isn't the only fresh offering from Tyla since the October release of the deluxe edition of her self-titled debut. She recently lent her infectious vocals to the remix of fellow South African artist WizTheMc's vibrant track "Show Me Love." The original version of the song has been steadily climbing the charts, reaching a new peak at No. 11 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart this week (dated May 3rd), further solidifying Tyla's global impact.
In a revealing Billboard Women in Music interview back in March, where she was honored as an Impact honoree, Tyla offered a tantalizing glimpse into her upcoming "new album," slated for release this year. Reflecting on her rapid rise to fame and the personal growth it has spurred, Tyla shared, “I’ve changed a lot in a short amount of time because I was kind of forced to with how fast I had to adapt to everything. I don’t think it’s going to be the same energy [as Tyla] at all, especially with what I’ve started making. It’s different, but also still Tyla.” This intriguing statement suggests a sonic evolution while reassuring fans that her unique essence will remain.
