Gengetone fans were met with disappointment as Peter Miracle Baby, a prominent member of the Sailors Gang, revealed that the group is currently unable to collaborate on new music due to contractual obligations.
In a social media post, Peter addressed fans' fervent requests for a Sailors Gang reunion and a resurgence of the vibrant Gengetone sound. He explained that the group is bound by a contract signed during their peak, effectively restricting their creative freedom.
"The contract essentially gives ownership of our music, our images, and even our faces to the entity that offered it," Peter stated, without disclosing the name of the individual or company involved. "This means any project we record currently belongs to them."
This revelation has dashed the hopes of many Gengetone fans who eagerly anticipated a return of the Sailors Gang and a potential musical rivalry with the burgeoning Arbantone genre, which emerged during the hiatus of many Gengetone artists.
The news has sparked a wave of discussion among music enthusiasts, with many expressing disappointment and frustration at the perceived limitations imposed on the Sailors Gang.
The situation raises questions about the nature of contracts in the music industry and the potential impact on artists' creative freedom. It also highlights the challenges faced by artists in navigating the complexities of the music business.
While the Sailors Gang may be unable to reunite under their current circumstances, the demand for their music and the desire for a Gengetone revival remain strong. It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold and whether the Sailors Gang will find a way to overcome these contractual limitations and once again grace the music scene with their unique brand of Gengetone.
