Renowned entrepreneur, event enthusiast and entertainment personality Frank Nafukho has called upon event organizers in the Kenya to embrace collaboration to address the growing issue of events flopping due to fans forcibly occupying venues without paying.
In an Instagram post, Nafukho criticized the current state of the Kenyan events industry, stating that events are often repeated with no clear direction, leading to losses and disappointing experiences for both artists and audiences. He highlighted how these issues negatively impact international artists, who often face insecurity and poor organization during their performances in Kenya.
Nafukho emphasized the importance of collaboration among event organizers. He urged them to come together, "break bread," and collectively plan a monumental event that would showcase Kenyan talent and make a significant statement to the world. He cited the Raha Festival as an example of a well-organized event that was unfortunately disrupted by fans who gained entry without paying.
Furthermore, Nafukho stressed the need for a large-capacity indoor arena in Kenya, similar to the O2 Arena in the UK. He argued that such a venue would provide a controlled environment, improve event organization, and enhance the overall experience for both artists and audiences.
Nafukho's call for collaboration resonates with many in the Kenyan entertainment industry. By working together, event organizers can pool their resources, share expertise, and create a more sustainable and successful events ecosystem.
