In the swirling vortex of legal battles and shocking allegations surrounding U.S. rapper and music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, Kenyan singer Victoria Kimani has stepped forward to set the record straight on her past brief interaction with the embattled artist. Speaking candidly on the Mic Cheque podcast, Kimani vehemently denied ever attending any of the controversial “freak-off” parties now allegedly linked to Diddy, describing her fleeting brush with him as a moment of "divine protection" in hindsight.
Kimani’s encounter with the Bad Boy Records founder occurred during a pivotal phase of her career, when she was signed to a publishing company. This affiliation opened doors, creating crucial opportunities to collaborate with other artists and producers within the broader music network. It was through this professional setup that she found herself working with Grammy-nominated producer Mario Winans, who subsequently introduced her to Diddy’s famed studio, Daddy’s House.
"I didn’t go to any freak-off. I only met him once,” Kimani clarified on the podcast, directly addressing the rumors and innuendo. “I was just working with people like Mario Winans, and when you’re under the same publishing house, it’s easier to collaborate. That’s how I ended up in Diddy’s studio.” Her account paints a picture of a purely professional engagement, far removed from the illicit activities now being alleged.

During that single studio session, Kimani’s talent shone through. She wrote two songs that clearly left a strong impression on those present. Impressed by her work, Winans invited Diddy to come and listen to the tracks. The music mogul’s reaction, as recounted by Kimani, was brief but complimentary. “He walked in, listened to both songs, shook my hand and said, ‘That’s fire,’ then walked out,” she recounted. "That was the first and last time I saw him.” This singular, professional interaction is a far cry from the extensive and disturbing allegations now surfacing against Diddy.
Reflecting on the chain of events with the benefit of hindsight, Kimani firmly believes she was shielded from potential danger. “The Holy Spirit was protecting me,” she stated, attributing her safety to a higher power. She also offered a more pragmatic, albeit humorous, observation: “Honestly, I also don’t think I was his type. At the time, he was with Cassie.” Kimani revealed that one of the songs she had written during that session, titled “Bougie S**t,” particularly caught Diddy’s attention. He expressed a desire for his then-girlfriend, Cassie, to record it and specifically asked Kimani to return to vocal-produce the recording session.
However, fate, or perhaps "divine protection" as Kimani believes, intervened. “I was broke. It was raining, and I couldn’t even afford the train fare,” she candidly admitted. “I didn’t show up, and they cussed me out. But even then, I think God was protecting me.” What seemed like a frustrating financial setback at the time is now viewed as a profound blessing in disguise.
When the Mic Cheque hosts jokingly suggested she might have missed out on some "fun stories" from those alleged parties, Kimani remained steadfast, reiterating her conviction that missing that opportunity was unequivocally a blessing. Her revelations gain significant weight given the escalating legal storm surrounding Diddy. The rapper is currently embroiled in multiple civil lawsuits, facing grave accusations of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and other serious offenses. The gravity of these allegations led to federal raids on his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March 2024, intensifying public scrutiny and criminal investigations.
