The intense rivalry between Tanzanian music stars Harmonize and Diamond Platnumz regarding who will propel Bongo Fleva to global prominence continues to intensify. Harmonize recently made a public jab at Diamond, pointing out his failure to secure a Grammy nomination this year, even after releasing tracks with broad international appeal like Komasava. While speaking to reporters, Harmonize boldly asserted that he would be the first East African artist to win a Grammy. In a pointed remark, Harmonize criticized Komasava—a collaboration between Diamond and Canadian artist Jason Derulo—as lacking the substance necessary for Grammy consideration. He specifically mocked the song’s use of the French phrase Comment ça va (“How are you?”), implying that such straightforwardness does not meet the Grammy standards. “Regarding the Grammys, my response is this: if we’re talking about Grammys, then know you’re speaking to the future 2025/2026 Grammy winner,” Harmonize stated. “You can’t win a Grammy just by saying hello. What matters most is the quality of your songwriting and production. Grammy judges aren’t concerned with fame; they focus on the music.” Harmonize expressed his belief not only in being nominated but also in becoming the first East African artist to bring the esteemed award home. Diamond, conversely, addressed the disappointment of fans over his omission from this year's Grammy nominations with a message of perseverance. Recognizing the global success of Komasava, he urged his supporters to see setbacks as chances for development. “When we don’t achieve something, we shouldn’t feel disheartened. Instead, we should evaluate where we went wrong and improve,” he stated. “I always tell my team not to lament over missed achievements. Perhaps we lack connections, or there’s something we didn’t execute correctly.”
